All about the Life Cycle of a Cactus (Saguaro Cactus to be exact) plus information about succulents. Students will be immersed in the world of these desert-loving plants through attention-grabbing photos and science-based facts. The Preschool, Prek, and Transitional Kindergarten Cactus Activities pack includes theme-based lessons for an exciting cactus and succulent unit.

Including Early Learning Science across all of the academic domains helps early educators provide a well-balanced curriculum. With an increase in digital learning and a need to be intentional with the math and literacy aspects, educators are looking for interesting ways to continue to incorporate science and art into our daily learning.

The unit includes EDITABLE cards where you can add your own vocabulary, sight words, number, and letter-sound cards by quickly typing into a single sheet that will auto-populate. This will make it easy to create new cards each year, or as needed for differentiation.

Prep Work for Hands-On Activities:

• You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader (FREE Version works) to EDIT the alphabet and number cards.
• Type the words and letters you want into the main vocabulary page.
• Download and Print all items on paper or cardstock.
• Laminate all the pieces and attach Velcro or magnets BEFORE you cut.
• Then cut everything out and the Velcro dots or magnets are already attached and ready to go.
• Use the cards on a magnet board so your students can see them on camera or a whiteboard.
• To use in the classroom the cards can be added to centers, small groups, and independent work tubs.
• I print black and white pages or greyscale items on colored cardstock to save on colored ink but also give me the look I want in my classroom space.
