Description
Using the syllable count worksheet game is a foundational component of phonemic awareness helps young learners learn through play. Use this Standards Based resource to enhance your students early literacy and phonemic awareness. Enhancing listening skills and segmenting words are a necessary part of a child’s phonological awareness.
Print, cut and laminate each card so students can flip through them easily. Have the children clap out the syllables, stomp the syllables, or count with fingers as they say each word out loud.
Use the included 5 and 10 frames to further enhance a child’s visual discrimination related to the number of syllables in a word. The syllable count worksheet game can be printed as a matching game as well. Just print 2 copies of each word card and play games as your students seem interested.
- Use the Roll and Cover Number mats for related math centers.
- Use the Alphabet Introducing Activities bundle to further develop an understanding of language and the printed word. Full-color real-world images for ELL students and young learners are also included.
